Angel Tree

Each year St. Luke's partners with a local school organization to bring Christmas to families in need.

This year's Angel Tree sponsorship program is in partnership with the Prison Entrepreneurship Program (PEP). PEP has the mission to transform inmates and executives by unlocking human potential through entrepreneurial passion, education and mentoring. Their groundbreaking results include a return-to-prison rate of less than 10%, an employment rate of 100% within 90 days of release and over 200 businesses (6 of which will gross $1MM in 2015) launched by graduates of the PEP program.

By participating in Angel Tree this year, you are ensuring the child(ren) of a graduate of PEP receives gifts this Christmas that will keep them connected to their father and serve as a tangible reminder of his love for them--and our heavenly Father’s love for us. In addition to their father’s already demonstrated path to change, the gifts these children receive will bring them a step closer to reconciliation and family reunification.

Your family has the opportunity to be a sponsor:

To pick up a sponsor packet, please visit the Sanctuary Hallway on Sundays, November 8, 15 or 22.

Please be generous but reasonable in the amount you spend. Some children come from the same family; we need to ensure all of the children feel equally special on Christmas day. We believe $75 is a reasonable amount.

Please, DO NOT wrap the gifts.

Please drop your gifts off no later than WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 2 at 5 p.m. in the designated receptacles throughout the church.

Please bag your gifts and tag the bag(s) with the labels you'll receive when you sponsor your child (trash bags work very well for this purpose).

Please include a gift receipt for items when possible.

If you’d like, feel free to include a gift card to a grocery store with your gift; that could make this season even more special for the caregivers of these children.

Other ways to help out:

Give a monetary gift to help cover the cost of the party, food, and supplies. Checks can be made out to St. Luke's, with "Angel Tree" in the memo, and dropped in the offering plate or mailed to P.O. Box 22013 Houston, TX 77227

Volunteer to be a shopper for any additional supplies needed for the Angel Tree Party.

Volunteer at the Gift Wrapping Party on December 5.
