ability to enjoy and appreciate children
Lead and support teachers receive ongoing continuing education in the form of training seminars, staff development meetings, and memberships in early childhood professional associations. Additionally, all are certified in Infant/Child First Aid and CPR.

Leadership
Debbie Weymouth, St. Luke's Day School Director, is an early childhood specialist whose love for children has kept her active in this field for almost twenty-five years. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education with kindergarten, elementary reading, and early childhood educationally handicapped endorsements. Her career began in the classroom where she taught kindergarten for ten years. Ms. Weymouth has served as an independent early childhood education consultant, Director of Bethany Methodist Weekday School, program validator for NAEYC, and workshop presenter and planner for Texas Methodist Conference Weekday Workshops. Ms. Weymouth has shared her experience and wisdom with St. Luke's children, teachers and families since 1998.

Kyra Bowman, a mainstay of our Day School, is currently in her sixteenth year with the program. From her start as a support teacher, the current Assistant Director approaches her work with warmth, humor, and dedication. Ms. Bowman acts as a Program Coordinator for three year olds through kindergarten. Armed with a B.S. in Elementary Education, she taught in both public and private schools in Houston and Savannah, Georgia, before settling at St. Luke's. Ms. Bowman has always maintained an interest in community involvement and has been a board member of a foundation supporting aid to the blind and visually impaired as well as a Houston area hospice board. Her professionalism and rapport with the children and families make her an asset to our school.

Pam Jones joined the Day School Administrative Team in June 2006.  A familiar face, she has worked at the Day School since 1992.  Pam holds a Bachelors in Business Education as well as a Child Development Associate certificate.  She is a graduate of the School Literacy and Culture Project at Rice University, a year long literacy training for teachers of young children, and has also presented workshops for early childhood educators. She started her career at St. Luke’s teaching Twos and later Threes where, in addition to teaching a five day class, she was team leader.  Pam also taught 3-day PreK and was our PreK and Kindergarten science teacher. Scientist Jones opened many young eyes to the scientific method of questioning and the excitement of scientific discovery. Pam is a dynamic and enthusiastic member of the Day School staff.  She brings years of experience and knowledge to her position of Program Coordinator for the Threes, PreK, and Kindergarten.

All program administrators are members of the Houston Area Association for the Education of Young Children (HAAEYC), the Texas Association for the Education of Young Children (TAEYC), and the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).
