Pure Sound is celebrating its 15th annual Retreat over the Labor Day weekend, September 3-6! All 7th through 12th graders are invited to come join us; 6th graders are also invited to participate as "New Sounders" who will spend Saturday night with us at Camp for All in bucolic Burton, TX.

We'll load the buses beginning at 4:00 p.m. and leave at 5:30 p.m. sharp from St. Luke's on Friday, September 3, and we'll return to St. Luke's late Monday afternoon, September 6 for a post retreat concert, followed by supper.

This year's guest clinician is Pam Elrod, who is the Director of Choral Activities at SMU’s Meadows School of the Arts in Dallas. In addition to conducting the choral ensembles at SMU, she also oversees the graduate program in choral conducting. Pam's teaching credentials are impeccable, and she is also an accomplished vocalist who performs as a guest artist with numerous university, professional, community and church choirs throughout the country.

Cost for each singer (7th - 12th grade) is $225; register in the Commons on Sunday morning, August 22 or 29 or at the PS Summer Reunion Party on Aug. 28. Cost for 6th grade New Sound singers is $110. Scholarships are available. See forms below to fill out at your convenience.

Retreat will be extra special this year as we host the fledgling youth choir of Holy Covenant UMC in Katy, who will join us in camp activities and experience the excitement and fun that being in a youth choir offers.

Come enjoy a day of music and fun along with our children's choirs, SundaySing! and SundayRing! On Saturday, September 4, we will gather at 9:30 a.m. in the Blanton Building with our directors, Leah King, Jane Long and Katy Cuddihee, who have planned an exciting day filled with songs, games, snacks and lunch. Parents are invited to join us at 1:30 for a time of closing together.

SundaySing! is for children in grades 1-5. They will begin regular rehearsals on Sunday, September 12:

SundaySing! grades 3-5 from 3:45-4:45 in the ROTUNDA!

SundaySing! grades 1 and 2 from 4:30-5:15 in ROTUNDA

SundayRing Handchimes is for children in grades 3-5, and will also begin regular rehearsals on September 12:
