St. Luke's Middle School Ministry
We have several opportunities for 6-8th graders to get connected and grow closer to Christ:
About Middle School Ministry at St. Luke's
Our ministry creates an environment for 6-8th grade students to interact with friends and leaders while growing in their relationship with Christ. We strive to help students encounter the gospel in ways that are both culturally relevant and spiritually challenging. Middle school is an exciting time, but also a difficult time in the life of a student. At St. Luke’s UMC, we believe the middle school years are an important time in young people’s faith. It is a time when their faith often becomes their own, and they enter into a lifelong journey to follow Christ and live out their faith.
We also want to walk alongside parents. At St. Luke’s, we know parents are the most influential people in a student’s spiritual life. Our hope is that we can work together to help your student navigate through this exciting but challenging life stage.
We invite you to learn more about our Sunday Morning and Small Group programs geared specifically toward middle school students. There are also exciting opportunities throughout the year, including trips, events and service projects. We hope you will join us.
Sunday Morning is a time when 7th and 8th grade students from our community come to connect with others, have fun, and learn about Jesus in real and relevant ways. It's a time filled with fun games and activities, engaging speakers, and worship music times, and honest small group discussions. We meet every Sunday morning in the attic (3rd floor) from 9:45 - 10:45.
One Sunday a month, our middle school students have an evening event just for them. Most SNL activities begin at 5:30 and end at 7:30. They're sometimes silly, sometimes crazy, and always a ton of fun!
Middle School Small Groups
Small Groups create a community where students grow in their commitment to Christ, the church, and one another. Each group meets once a week at a host home for dinner and a lesson from their leaders. Our students who participate in Small Groups tell us it's their favorite part of the week, and they look forward to it more than anything else.
