We are a community gathered by Jesus
to enact faith in love.
In Galatians 5:6, Paul says, “The only thing that matters is faith enacted in love.”
This is the foundation of our mission at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church. We gather around Jesus where we will grow in our faith and go out as apostles to put that faith into action in our community.
In order to fulfill this mission, our model for ministry is built around moving people forward on a spiritual pathway—four movements of faith:
- from Seeker to Believer
- from Believer to Belonger
- from Belonger to Disciple
- and from Disciple to Apostle
But we don’t take these steps forward by ourselves.
We are a church where no one walks alone.
As God leads St. Luke’s deeper into our calling, we are periodically given a new vision—our next steps towards fully embodying our mission. Being a church where no one walks alone is this vision. Throughout St. Luke’s history many of us have already experienced the sustaining presence of St. Luke’s community of faith, so it is also part of our heritage.
We strive to be a church where no one walks alone, but we haven’t always achieved it. It will take all of us to make the vision a reality. We must connect with each other to beckon, encourage, uphold, support and sometimes even prod one another along the spiritual pathway.
We invite you to join us as God works within us and among us that we might live out St. Luke’s mission and our vision to be a church where no one walks alone.
Come walk with us!
