Angel Tree 2013

AngelTree_copy.jpg

This year we're teaming up with Amigos Por Vida Charter School, which is located nearby the Gethsemane Campus. We will have the opportunity to sponsor between 70-100 famlies who struggle to make ends meet, let alone provide special gifts for their children at Christmas time. It is our privilege and honor to help them out.

Your family has the opportunity to be a sponsor:

On November 3rd, 10th or 17th, come by the hallway outside of the Sanctuary (or at Gethsemane, visit the Narthex on November 10th and 17th). You'll get to look through to find a family you'd like to sponsor. We're looking for you to provide each child in a sponsored family with:

  • A new, age appropriate and reasonable priced toy
  • A new pair of shoes, pants or shirt (not necessarily all three unless you find a bargain!
  • Additionally, we'd like for each family to receive a gift card to a grocery store-- a good guideline for the amount is $10 for each member in the family. So a family of four would get a giftcard for $40.

Other ways to help out:

  • Give a monetary gift to help cover the cost of the party, food, and supplies. Checks can be made out to St. Luke's, with "Angel Tree" in the memo, and dropped in the offering plate or mailed to P.O. Box 22013 Houston, TX 77227
  • Volunteer to be a shopper for any additional supplies needed for the December 8 Angel Tree Party.
  • Volunteer at the Angel Tree Party on December 8 at 12:30 pm at Gethsemane, where all our sponsor and sponsored families will be able to partipate in fellowship, food, and crafts together.
