Early Music Ensemble
By Invitation Only

St. Luke’s is fortunate to have, in addition to the larger choirs, a select ensemble of 18-22 singers dedicated primarily to church music from centuries ago - a wonderful contrast to the literature offered by the larger choirs. Renaissance and English church music predominate this groups repertoire with an occasional piece by a contemporary composer.
Early Music offers their voices in traditional worship, from time to time in our Improvisation Service on Sunday evenings, the annual “Christmas in the Chapel” during December and in the last few years, as part of our Christmas Festival and larger works, such as Howard Goodall’s “Eternal Light.”
This group is formed by invitation and is drawn from our standing choirs.
