Men's Life

Men’s Life to Begin September 10, focusing on changing our attitudes.

Victor Frankl, who survived the Nazi concentration camps, is most famous for his book, Man’s Search for Meaning. The book was originally published under the title Nevertheless, Say "Yes" to Life: A Psychologist Experiences the Concentration Camp. His thesis is found in this quotation: “We who lived in concentration camps can remember the men who walked through the huts comforting others, giving away their last piece of bread. They may have been few in number, but they offer sufficient proof that everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of the human freedoms -- to choose one's attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one's own way.”

This Fall, in our Men’s Life sessions, Dr. Tom Pace will lead us in a study titled “Changing the Attitude: The Bible’s Approach to Reversing the Grumpy Man Syndrome.” We will discuss the negative and positive mindsets we choose in every circumstance. We will look to see what the Bible says about those attitudes, and find inspiration and direction to open ourselves to God’s transformation of our minds. We also will make some good friends, and enjoy the great community and bond that is formed with brothers around the table. Our study begins on Wednesday morning, September 10, 6:30 a.m., in the Fellowship Hall, and our last week will be November 19. We conclude by 7:45 each Wednesday morning. All are welcome, invite your friends.
