Move in Ministry

It isn’t enough for us to walk together with others at St. Luke’s. In John 3:16, a familiar verse, we are reminded that God didn’t “so love the church,” but “so loved the world.”

As we connect and grow closer—as individuals, as teams, as congregations and across campuses—we must move out into the community, into the lives of individuals and families in our extended neighborhoods.

In doing so, we make sure no one walks alone, even outside our church doors.

There are ample opportunities at both our Westheimer and our Gethsemane campuses to get moving in ministry. Chose one, or two, that you find most meaningful and rewarding. If we walk in kinship with those around us—sharing ourselves with them and becoming enriched as they share themselves with us—we believe that St. Luke’s can make real and positive changes for many in need.

Move out and walk beside the people in our community.

• Repair a house with Project Neighborhood.
• Share a meal with families each month with Breaking Bread.
• Be a KIDS HOPE USA mentor at Sutton Elementary.
• Just find the St. Luke’s ministry that speaks to you!
