Prayer Shawls
The Prayer Shawl Ministry is the making of shawls (knitting, crocheting, quilting) by people within the Church which has a two-fold purpose:
- Shawls are made to give to others as a tangible expression of the love and concern of a Community of Faith.
- The making of the shawl is a practice in prayer. There are prayers of blessing over the tools of the trade as each shawl is begun. While the shawl is being made, the person making it is in prayer. When the shawl is completed, prayers of blessing are said. Prayers are made for the maker, the Church, and the recipient when it is given.
