Senior Adults
Psalm 23:6 Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life.
Senior Adult Ministries of St. Luke’s United Methodist Church is dedicated to creating, promoting, and carrying out meaningful programs, activities and services by, with and for adults in the third age of life.
Programs of Senior Adult Ministries are designed primarily for the needs and interest of those in the third age of life, but are open to all persons, regardless of age or abilities. All church members and constituents 62 years and older, along with others who so request, receive a copy of our monthly newsletter, which details upcoming programs and events. Those involved in our programs call themselves “Mainstreamers” as persons “living in the mainstream of life.”
Spirituality is a very important contributor to the total wellness and well-being of older adults. One role of spirituality in aging has to do with reclaiming the role of elder as one of honor. Another is to strengthen ones ability to transcend the limitations and losses of aging, give power to cope realistically with disability, suffering, and other problems. Senior Adult Ministries sponsors and supports periodic programs and retreats that speak to these concepts.
