Pure Sound

Philippians 4:8-9 Finally, beloved, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is pleasing, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence and if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. Keep on doing the things that you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, and the God of peace will be with you.

The Pure Sound Youth Choir of St. Luke's UMC is made up of 100+ singers from 6th through 12th grades. Members come from all over the city and beyond (Katy, Spring, Pearland) to participate in this exciting choir which leads in musical worship each week at our 8:30 a.m. Sunday service. Pure Sound presents an annual spring musical and tours bi-annually to places as far flung as Alaska and Scotland.

Rehearsals are held each Sunday afternoon from 4:00 - 5:30 in the Choir Room of St. Luke's during the school year, and new members are always welcome. Church membership is not a pre-requisite, and no audition is required. For more information about Pure Sound, contact director,
Sid Davis.

How to Join Pure Sound

Any 6th through 12th grader is eligible to be a member of Pure Sound; there is no need to audition. Simply come to the choir room any Sunday afternoon during the school year for our weekly rehearsal. We begin at 4:00 PM, so make plans to arrive a bit earlier than that to meet the Director and be oufitted with music. You'll be greeted by friendly faces and enjoy a fun afternoon of music and laughter!

To learn about what being a Pure Sound member means, read the
Pure Sound What-to-Do Brochure
