St. Cecilia

[back to fine arts home]

Psalm 63:7
for you have been my help, and in the shadow of your wings I sing for joy.

St. Cecilia sings on Sundays at the 9:45 a.m. worship service (except for the last Sunday of each month), at special church and community concerts, and joins other choirs for seasonal church events. Weekly rehearsals are held each Wednesday night from 6:00 to 7:00 in the Sanctuary (with a summer break). Dinner for our choir members is available beginning at 5:30 in the Hines Baker Room. Childcare is available with a reservation.

For more information, call Beverly Laubach at 713-402-5122 or e-mail her at blaubach@stlukes-hou.org.

Join Us in the St. Cecilia Choir!

SC rehearsalIs singing your ministry? At St. Luke’s UMC everyone has a ministry. Perhaps helping others to worship through song is your ministry. If you think it might be, then please give St. Cecilia, our adult women's choir, a try.

Do you have to be an experienced singer? No, but carrying a tune helps! We all learn the music as we go. You will find St. Cecilia to be a friendly, comfortable and supportive environment for developing your voice and many members take lessons at Bridges Academy.

How do you join? All it takes is to show up for practice!! Come to the Sanctuary on a Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 7:00. You will be given your own mentor, music, and robe. We look forward to meeting you!

Rehearsals begin June 10!
