Disciple Bible Studies
The man stopped me in the hall, and I could see the passion in his eyes. He knew I was between worship services, and he didn’t have much time to explain. “I have been in church all my life. I have heard the Bible stories. I am taking Disciple right now, and for the first time, I think I get it. I see the big picture. I see how things fit together. And I just love these people, these new friends… Just wanted to tell you that Disciple works.” I want each one of you to feel that you are starting to “get it.” I want you to have marvelous “aha moments,” and meet some friends that will last a lifetime. I know of no program that can help you do that more than Disciple Bible Study. If you haven’t done the Disciple program, I want you to. For your sake, and for the sake of God Tom Pace |

Step One: Disciple One
Disciple I: Becoming Disciples Through Bible Study Disciple I is the pre-requisite for all other Disciple classes. It is the foundational study during which participants--a small group of 12 and a facilitator--move from Genesis to Revelation over the course of 35 weeks. New semester begins in September.
Second Generation Disciple Bible Studies
Christian Believer
This study of the classic beliefs of the Christian faith aims at presenting, explaining, and interpreting Christian doctrine as the basic teaching of the church, open to graduates of Disciple I. New semester begins September.
Disciple II: Into the Word, Into the World
Participants read Genesis and Exodus in the Old Testament, and Luke and Acts in the New Testament in a 33 week study, open to graduates of Disciple I. New semester begins September.
Disciple III: Remember Who You Are
Participants explore the Prophets in the Old Testament and the letters of Paul in the New Testament in a 33 week study, open to graduates of Disciple I. New semester begins September.
Disciple IV: Under the Tree of Life
Participants focus on writings in both the Old Testament (Ruth, 1 and 2 Chronicles, Ezra, Nehemiah, Esther, Job, Psalms, Proverbs, Ecclesiates, Song of Solomon, Lamentations, and Daniel) and New Testament (John, 1, 2, 3 John, James, Jude, and Revelation). Disciple IV emphasizes the ideas of being tested, refined, and moving into spiritual maturity.
Invitation to Romans
Paul’s teachings in Romans come to us mediated through the history of the church’s interpretations of his letter. The challenge of reading Romans, then, is to learn to have our own interpretive conversation with the text itself, in spite of centuries of commentary on the text. One of the aims of this short-term study is to invite us into conversation around several key themes: Paul’s emphasis on communal salvation; the centrality of God’s righteousness; and the relationship between Jews and Gentiles and the relationship of both to God. New session begins in September.
Invitation to Psalms
This short-term study offers greater understanding of how the ancient texts of praise, lament, worship, and prayer found in the Psalms can still speak to us and for us. The human emotions expressed in the Book of Psalms rise to peaks of joy and descend into valleys of despair composing a collection of moving testimonies of grace, glory, sorrow and beauty unmatched in sacred literature. New session begins in September.
Invitation to John
This short-term study considers the unique gospel account of John. In its wisdom, the early church chose to keep four Gospel accounts of the life, ministry, death, and resurrection of Jesus. Three of these Gospels are very similar to each other in both what they tell about the story of Jesus and how they tell it. However, the Gospel of John stands apart. In it, we find Jesus speaking not in parables but in lengthy discourses. A new session begins in September.
