Small Groups

What is a Small Group?

Small Groups consist of people who want to connect with others and grow spiritually. Usually meeting in a host's home on a regular schedule, they are formed based on common age, location, interests, stage of life, etc. They are gatherings of people who come together to study the Bible serve in missions, pray for each other, and to gather socially for fellowship. Most importantly, groups learn to support, encourage and challenge each other as they take their faith journey together.

The Lord's Prayer

The Lord and His Prayer Introduction

We who are followers of Jesus have many ways of worshiping, praying and celebrating. But in any Christian church, anywhere, whenever Christians meet to worship, we say some form of the Lord’s Prayer as a part of it. If a Christian from the first century were to visit a Christian church today, he probably wouldn’t recog- nize much—except for one thing—the Lord’s Prayer. It has been the central prayer for Christians for almost two thousand years.

With this study, using N.T. Wright’s book “The Lord & His Prayer,” we will take the time to explore each phrase of what we sometimes recite by rote. Read, reflect, and discuss with your small group in order to come to a deeper understanding of this prayer that we may occasionally pray without understanding or commitment.
