It's guest month at Luminous! We'll be having guest teachers for 4 out of the next 5 Sundays. This week, Rev. Linda Christians our Executive Pastor of Discipleship will be teaching.

Coffee w/Taylor… I've noticed that a lot of you have an inkling that you'd like to meet with me to talk (about work, about relationships, about life, about God), but don't feel it's important enough to set up an appointment. SO…I'm setting up shop at Starbucks on Mondays, 4-6 p.m. Feel free to stop by and chat—for anything! (Think of Lucy from the Peanuts comic strip, with her sign: "Advice—5 cents"….except it's free!!) Starbucks at Buffalo Spdwy & Westpark--NOTE THE CHANGE IN LOCATION!!

Care for a College Student
Commit to a college freshman for one school year by joining the "Home Team." The commitment involves praying for them, sending an occasional note or email, and helping during 1 of our 4 care package assembly times during the year. Did your church support and care for you during college? If so, pass it on! If not, don't you wish they had? Email Taylor to sign up.
Young Adult Retreat September 26-28. Registration begins this Sunday. Cost is only $45, and covers everything! Space is limited--put it on your calendar and sign up fast!
Work with Youth this Summer!

Sr High Mission Trip - We are going to be doing hurricane rita recovery in Beaumont Texas. June 15th - 21st
JR High Mission Trip to Corpus July 9th - 12th - We will be painting homes for the elderly and going to the beach on saturday.
SR High Get Away August 1st - 4th - We will be going to the Frio river. We will also have small groups and a time of worship.
JR High Get Away August 13th - 16th We will be going to San Antonio(fiesta texas and sea world). We will have small group time and worship time as well.
Join a small group!
Small groups are at the heart of our ministry! It's easy to come to a big-group event and still feel like you don't really know anyone. Small Groups are the way we plug into ministry to learn, serve, and grow as disciples. Join one and get connected. Young Adult Ministry @ St. Luke's
Mission Trip 2008
(The mission trip is full!)
Come join with Luminous to serve God and build a church in Saltillo, Mexico. The trip is July 26th through August 3rd (SAT to SUN - 9 days).
St. Luke's Outreach Ministries is organizing this trip and supplementing the cost to get it down to $700 per person. That is all-inclusive cost for transportation, food, accommodations, etc.
Is it worth it to take 5 days vacation and spend $700? Absolutely, just talk to anyone that has been on an international mission trip before. It will change your World View and heart for God's work, plus you get a vacation out of it to a place you have probably never been, and you get to build lifetime bonds with your fellow church members.
Deposit of $100 is due by April 1st, but spots are limited, so we encourage you to
request your vacation days now and complete your application. Contact Jason McDonald for more information.
