We pray. We study the Bible. We make friends. We tell our stories. We give ourselves away in generosity and service.

WE PRAY: A PERSONAL PRAYER
Holy Spirit,
I need your guidance. I read the words of Scripture, and want to follow them and apply them to my life, but I know that they only have power to really guide me when they are enlivened by you. Sometimes, I hear your voice speaking to me… or at least I think it is your voice. I sense your nudges and promptings… or at least it feels to me like they are from you. Other times, when I come to a fork in the road, a difficult decision, it seems neither decision is right, and I have to step forward trusting in your power to take even my worst decisions and use them for your glory.
Come Holy Spirit today. Empower me to accomplish your purposes. Equip me to do your ministry. Comfort me in the places I am hurting. Enliven me with your Holy Breath. Sanctify me a little more than yesterday, so I might bear your fruit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
I know that I can’t do anything significant by my own power and strength, so I simply make myself available for use by you.
In the holy name of my brother Jesus, I pray.
Amen

KEY VERSE FOR THE WEEK
But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you everything, and remind you of all that I have said to you.— John 14:26  Read the whole text for the sermon here: John 14: 15-27

QUESTIONS FOR CONVERSATION
Where have you experienced the Holy Spirit at work in your life to guide, equip, or produce fruit in your life?

SOME THOUGHTS TO SHARE
This week in worship, we will talk about the God who continues to act in us and through us – the Holy Spirit of God. Of all the persons of the Trinity, the Holy Spirit is the hardest for us to comprehend. Rather than talk about “Who is the Holy Spirit?” we are going to ask the question a different way: “What does the Holy Spirit do?” This is the “so what” question of faith. I hope you come and worship with us.
I hope you will come to the church conference meeting at 5:30 p.m. on Sunday evening, February 28, in the Sanctuary. We will vote on whether to move forward on our parking garage project in partnership with St. John’s School.
