“In the relentless busyness of modern life, we have lost the rhythm between work and rest. Our culture invariably supposes that action and accomplishment are better than rest; that doing something – anything – is better than doing nothing. Because we do not rest, we lose our way. We miss the compass points that would show us where to go. We miss the quiet that would give us wisdom. And we miss the joy and love born of effortless delight. For want of rest, our lives are in danger.”
-from Sabbath by Wayne Muller
If you are ready for a rest…you are ready for this retreat.
We come to retreat to reconnect, in a fresh and powerful way, with a God who never used the word 'multitasking'… but whose vocabulary, instead, is 'rest', 'wait', and 'be still.' We come to retreat to step out of our ordinary existence to listen and tune into our truest, most authentic self. To become self-referenced and self-restored. To take time to tend the hearth of our soul.
Do you ever have moments when you stop and think “Is this the way I really want to live my life?” Not that it’s so bad, really, but that it’s not as fulfilling and meaningful as you had hoped? Is there more anxiety than peace? More have-to than want-to? More duty than joy? More misery than mystery?
There are three ways to change your life… crisis, chance and choice. So often, especially as busy women juggling multiple roles and responsibilities, we default to crisis and chance and end up living life as if it were an out-of-body experience.
During this weekend, we will explore “Five Choices That Will Transform Your Life.” Through the use of story, song, scripture and wondering, we will uncover five simple, yet profound, choices that can create an extraordinary life, regardless of personal circumstances.
Leading this exploration is Eva Archer-Smith, Executive Coach and Keynote Speaker. Eva, a wife, mother, business woman, and volunteer, has dedicated her life to helping her clients (and herself) make conscious, life-giving choices about the precious lives they lead. She’ll share what she has learned - - and is continuing to learn – about how we can break unproductive habits, boldly take God at His word, and live the abundant, victorious life we have been promised.
