Dr. Thomas J. Pace has been the Senior Pastor of St. Luke’s UMC in Houston since 2006. This is his second tour of duty at St. Luke’s, as he served as the youth pastor from 1982-1987. In between, he was the Senior Pastor of Christ UMC in Sugar Land, Founding Pastor at Bay Harbour UMC in Clear Lake, and Pastor of Faith UMC in South Houston.

Raised in Southern Illinois, Dr. Pace came to Texas upon finishing seminary with a Master of Divinity degree from Perkins School of Theology at Southern Methodist University. He earned his Doctor of Ministry from Drew University in Madison, New Jersey, in 2001.

His vision for his ministry mirrors that of St. Luke’s – A City Transformed by the Love of Jesus. We believe we are here for a reason: to be sent by Jesus, motivated by his love, to bring about God’s preferred future for the city in which we have been placed, and to invite people to be a part of the City of God.

He has been married to Dee Wagner Pace for forty-four years, and they have five daughters and eleven grandchildren.
