Worship Volunteers

Worship volunteers serve each Sunday morning and play a very important role in our services and other special events.

 

Ushers and Greeters are the first welcoming faces at the doors of our Sanctuary and Fellowship Hall (Encounter Contemporary Service). They greet members and visitors, assist in seating and take up the offerings at each of the services. These men and women willingly contribute their service on particular Sundays each month, as well as at special events during the week. Acolytes

Acolytes bring the light of Christ into the Sanctuary to begin the worship service and assist with baptisms and children’s sermons. All youth in grades six through twelve are invited to serve on particular Sundays each month at least six times per year. contact Leah King if you are interested in becoming an acolyte. Guilds

Worship at St. Luke’s is a meaningful spiritual event each week – in large part due to our many volunteers. Many facets of worship require the help of one of our Guild groups.

Television Ministry

Our television volunteers serve as camera crews each Sunday morning during worship services. This ministry extends our worship to viewers at home. If you would be interested in serving as a volunteer, please contact Charlotte Howard (713-402-5079.)

 

We also need volunteers to present the MediaShout visuals for our Contemporary Service in Fellowship Hall on Sunday mornings. Please contact Faith Ayers at 713-402-5123 if you are interested.


Choir Members

St. Luke's has a number of volunteer choirs that lead us in musical worship each Sunday morning. Learn about all of the choirs and how to join the Chancel Choir, St. Cecilia Choir, Veritas, Pure Sound, Children in Music or Chancel Bells.
