Group Life

Wednesday Night Fellowship
Gethsemane loves to eat. We gather every Wednesday at 6 p.m. in Canterbury Hall for a family style meal prepared by our church members and volunteers. This meal is for all… church families, community friends and the homeless. We’re all family! Then, at 7 p.m., we break out into age-specific small  groups for adults, youth and children which includes bible study, tutoring and friend groups.

Wednesday Night Groups
Pastor’s Bible Study: If you are looking for an in-depth Bible study experience led by a pastor, then come to the Wednesday night Bible study class at 6:30 p.m. Pastor David teaches a discussion style class and welcomes your thoughts and questions. For more information, contact Pastor David Horton.

“Real Talk” meets Wednesday nights at 7 p.m. for Bible study and conversation. This group wrestles with how the Bible can help us navigate everyday life. For more information, contact Amy Kelley.

Oasis is a Spanish worship community that serves God and the Hispanic families of Houston. We have a deep commitment with the Word of God and our greatest search is for the Presence of God for a spiritual revival and the manifestation of God’s Kingdom among us. We meet 7 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. For more information, contact Pastor Roberto Blanco.

Sunday School

If you are looking for fellowship and Bible study on Sundays, then Sunday School is for you. Classes  meet at 10 a.m. on Sunday mornings. From babies to seniors, our classes learn about God’s word and purpose for our lives. You can simply show up on Sunday mornings and a friendly face will welcome and guide you to the right class. Childcare is available for Sunday School and worship.

Children

Sunday School
Children, infants to 5th grade, are welcome to Sunday School at 10 a.m., taught by Gethsemane members. The children learn about God’s love through curriculum written by our St. Luke’s Children Ministries Team.

The Deck (PreK’s 3 & 4)
The Sandbox (Kindergarten & 1st Grade)
The Fort (2nd & 3rd Grades)

It is important for the whole family to be able to discuss the Sunday message together at home.

kidshope

KIDS HOPE USA is a church/school mentoring program for at risk elementary aged children. St. Luke’s provides caring, trained mentors at Sutton Elementary School and Briarmeadow Charter School. By spending just one hour per week, reading, talking, playing and listening to a child at school, children feel loved and valued and that helps them to learn, grow and succeed.

There are many ways to be involved in this ministry:

1.     Mentor one student for one hour a week during the school day.

2.     Serve as a Prayer Partner and pray(at home) for an assigned mentor-child team.

3.     Serve on the Teacher/Staff Encouragement Team and prepare small treats and baked goodies for the school staff and/or help host holiday parties and spring picnics at one of the schools.

For more information or to volunteer please contact Marci Pampe or Karen McCarver
