Dr. Tom Pace

Thomas J. Pace is Senior Pastor of St. Luke’s United Methodist Church in Houston, Texas. Prior to his appointment to St. Luke’s, Tom was the Senior Pastor of Christ United Methodist Church in Sugar Land, and the founding pastor at Bay Harbour United Methodist Church on the South Shore of Clear Lake. He also served as pastor of Faith United Methodist Church in South Houston and as Associate Pastor at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church in Houston. Tom has a great heritage in the Texas Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church. His grandfather was Dr. Lawrence Landrum, Sr., a well-respected District Superintendent, and his uncle was Lawrence Landrum, Jr., the pastor of Memorial Drive United Methodist Church for many years. He grew up in Southern Illinois, the son of two university professors, and came to the Texas Conference upon finishing seminary in 1982. His father-in-law, Dr. Boyd Wagner, is also a pastor, currently on the staff of St. Luke’s United Methodist Church in Houston. Tom received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Southern Illinois University in 1978, a Master of Divinity degree from Perkins School of Theology at Southern Methodist University in 1982, and Doctor of Ministry from Drew University in Madison, New Jersey in 2001. He has been married to Dee Wagner Pace for forty-two years, and they delight in their eleven grandchildren.
