WELCOME TO ST. LUKE’S STUDENT MINISTRIES

For students in 6th-12th grade, our middle and high school ministries offer strategically focused Bible studies and events to meet students where they are and spur them on to know, love, and follow Jesus Christ. We are committed to loving and serving youth and their families as they navigate the teen years and explore their faith in Christ.

Special SNL & Sign-up!

This Sunday we are going to be having a very special SNL. (In case you are new, SNL is the name of our Sunday night program, designed to be fun environments that are great for students bringing friends.) The special ‘SNL’ for MS and HS students will be from 6:00-8:30 online. We have a few things that will be happening concurrently:

1. Brindley: Leading a student ‘talent show’ –  Students had this idea and their hope is to create 10 minute or so talent shows designed to cheer up some older St. Luke’s members. Students will record short talent displays, and we will send them to our “friends at home” (St. Luke’s ministry to homebound seniors) as an encouragement.

2. Tim Helwege: First, if you have not had a chance to listen to Tim’s message from last Sunday, I strongly recommend it. The link is below. We have loved having Tim on our student ministry team over the past year. He is a man of many talents. Not only can Tim dunk a basketball and bench press over 300 lbs, but he is a HUGE fan of anime. He and other anime fans in the student ministry will be screen sharing and watching anime together.

3. Joseph: Leading a group of leaders and students in online board games. We are currently figuring out the best way to do this, but we will have a way to play together on Sunday. There is something called Jackbox that is popular… We will figure it out.

*****If your student wants to be part of this SNL, sign up on this survey monkey. That way we can get your student the correct information and zoom links for each of these environments.

If they can’t make it at 6:00 but want to jump on later, that is totally fine. This SNL is going to be very flexible. If they want to jump in and out of these environments they are free to do that, too.

SERVANT LEADERSHIP ACADEMY

The Servant Leadership Academy is a process of deeper discipleship and intentional training and leadership opportunities for students who want to learn how to put their faith into practice by serving inside and outside the church. Students will have the opportunity to join a study of leadership, Scripture, and spiritual formation, as well as unique leadership opportunities among the church and peers.  All students are invited to begin the application process by filling out the application here.  For more information contact Joseph Patty.

PARENTS & VOLUNTEERS

It is clear in scripture that the primary source of discipleship in a student’s life is the home. Our hope is to effectively partner with you and encourage you to be the parents God has called you to be. We have countless opportunities for people wanting to partner with Student Ministry at St. Luke’s As a volunteer, you could lead a weekly small group, travel with us to retreats and mission trips, share your gift of photography or anything in between. If you feel a calling to walk alongside our 6th-12th grade students in their journeys of faith, we invite you to sit down with one of our staff members to learn more about all the ways to get involved.
